Brothers Kyle and Elliot Bennett are two of the most successful professional footballers to come out of Telford. The brothers completed their education at the well renowned Thomas Telford School and owe a lot to the school and local area for giving them the springboard to their success, playing at big clubs such as Brighton and Hove Albion, Portsmouth and Norwich City.

After enjoying successful careers playing over 900 professional games between them, they have decided it’s time to give back to the local area by launching a new coaching programme aimed at getting talented players from the local area to the next level in their game. Launching in September, a new Monday evening Academy will be delivered at the first-class 3G pitch at Thomas Telford school. The weekly sessions are aimed at high-level grassroots players who are looking to improve the technical, tactical and physical elements of their game. The sessions are designed to complement players’ current training and playing schedules with their schools and clubs.

Kyle and Elliot have partnered up with youth development experts, Volenti Academy, which has a number of sites operating under the leadership of former professional players and has sent over 40 players into professional clubs. This partnership will allow the Academy in Telford to form part of a network of high performing private academies, which will open up opportunities for players to take part in showcase games against professional Academies, participate in specialist training events and attend international tours.
